52 GIRLS

When I was a kid I had to do an assembly with the class where we performed a dance to two songs to the whole school. One of those songs was Seal, Kissed By a Rose, and the other was Shiny Happy People by REM. My wonderful teacher, Mrs Maguire, showed us the music video to Shiny Happy People as inspiration and I was mesmerised by this vivacious woman with flaming red hair who turned out to be Kate Pierson from the B52s.

At about the same time I was also obsessed with Kate Piersons lookalike - Peggy Bundy - from the sitcom Married With Children.

Anyway, I love the B52s. I never think I love them, but now I've realised that I do. I especially love the girls (obviously) and I've been listening to this song allllllll muthafuckin day! It was on a Claw Money mix tape and it didnt have the track name and I had to call my mate Jiro to find out what it was because he knows every single cool song ever made (thanks J). Listen now! It rawks....

So I wanna learn an instrument so I can make a song as good as this...

FYI - Check out the lyrics...

Effie, Madge and Mabel and Biddie
See them on the beach
Or in New York City
Tina, Louise and Hazel and Mavis
Can you name, name, name, name them today
Can you name, name, name, name them today

Wanda and Janet and Ronnie and Reba-o-o-o
These are the girls of the USA
The principal girls of the USA
Can you name, name, name, name them today
Can you name, name, name, name them today

O-o-o Kate, Kate and Cindy and Crystal and Candy
Mercedes and Joan, Betty and Brenda
Suzie and Anita and Phoebe and Jack Jackie-o
These are the girls of the USA
The principal girls of the USA

Can you name, name, name, name them today
Can you name, name, name, name them today
Can you name, name, name, name.
