THRIFT STORE
Because I'm lazy, I've only just unpacked from LA/MEX/NY and I bought so much stuff i forgot about some of it!!! This is probably one of the best things I bought in LA. Its a suede, leopard print bustier. Errrr HELLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!?!? Soooo amazing!! Fits like a dream, 15 bucks. The thrift stores in La are insanely cheap. Expect more pics of my fave finds over the next few weeks...
WORK IT CARNIVAL PARTY

As those of you in London may have come to realise, Work It is the best party in East London right now. I'm DJing at the carnival afterparty next week. Pass by and make a request!!
ROSIE PEREZ
...has still got it. I watched Pineapple Express in LA. She da bomb...I think I like her because our voices sound the same and we both like to dance crazy...

RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW
At the moment I am
looking like a Mexican (or at least trying to)
reading Thus Spake Zarathustra, Nietzsche
missing my flat
listening to the amazing girl cassette tapes I got from Ogga Booga (see below)
drinking water water water in the blistering LA heat
watching You Werent There, a punk film, at Cinefamily
smelling of Hawaiian Tropics tan oil spray
eating Mexican food and Wholefoods
dreaming of nuts
wearing floral dresses and lots of denim
walking in white socks and black Vans all day every day
singing Jewish tunes
trying to get healthy in Venice Beach
wanting to keep my amazing tan

LOS ANGGEEELLLESSSS
Hola!!! Sorry I've been away. I've been manic. I'm now in LA but the week before I left I suddenly got tons of work so by the time I actually came to go on holiday I felt I needed it!! We've been here since Tuesday. Meghans just arrived yay!! I've left my camera at Texan Alex's so no party pics just yet. HOWEVER!!! What i DO have is the best goodies ever from a super cool store called Oogie Boogie that we visited in Chinatwon today. Flo used to work there when she lived in LA and I spent so much money, mainly on things for other people...My ultimate buy was these 4 cassette tapes made by Calvin Johnson. I wanted more but they were $10 each and I'd already picked up a ton on fanzines! Sooooooo obviously I stuck to the girl shit!!! Heres what I got!

At the risk of boring you I'm gonna type out the first 5 tracks so you can get the gist and if I can work out the technology I'll record them and put them up on here.
So here goes:
GIRLS INTERNATIONALE - 60s Female Artists from Foriegn (sic)
Lolita - Gioverdi Venerdi
Sandie Shaw - Gils Don't Come
Natercia Barreto - Oculos de Sol
Katarzyrna Sobczyk - Ani Mi Sie Sni
Alice Dona - Les Garcons
Twinkle - Tommy
BABY BE MINE - R+B Soul Women 45s
Pattie Lenoir + Her Hi-Stands - Take Romance and Give it a Chance
Eloise - Ooh, Baby (wand)
Mamie Galore - Don't Think I Could Stand It
Irma Thomas - Gone
Jackie Verdell - Don't Set Me Free (Decca)
WE WILL BURY YOU - Female New Wave/Punk 1977-82
Pylon - Cool
The Reactors - Membrane
Get Smart! - Eat Sleep a Go-Go
Honey Bane - Girl On the Run
Destroy All Monsters - You're Gonna Die
GIRLS GROW UP FASTER - Girls and Girl Groups 50s and 60s
Sue Lyon - Turn off the Moon
The Swans - You Better Be a Good Girl Now
The Dixie Cups - I'm Gonna Get You Yet
Robin Ward - Dream Boy
Jackie DeShannon - Be Good Baby
I've finally bought a cassette recorder and as I type this I'm listening to WE WILL BURY YOU, while the girls are chilling after a hard days shopping at Melrose Trading Flea Market (where we saw Agnes Deyn and Albert Hammond FYI). Good times...
